Our Services:

Online Assessment Tools

Online self-assessment is available to all Students, Faculty/Staff, and Parents

This self-assessment tool for Mental Health offers free and confidential online screenings. After your self-assessment, you will see information, resources, and tools to help you understand and improve your mental health.

Please note: Online screening tools are meant to be a quick snapshot of your mental health. If your results indicate you may be experiencing symptoms of a mental illness, consider sharing your results with someone. A mental health provider (such as a doctor or a therapist) can give you a full assessment and talk to you about options for how to feel better.

Continuing Education

The City Colleges of Chicago Wellness Centers are now offering Continuing Education in mental health for CCC faculty, staff and the broader community. The goal of the Wellness Centers’ Continuing Education program is to promote education and ongoing learning to those working in the social sciences and to provide mental health resources to our CCC faculty and staff.

Evening and Weekend Teletherapy Services

City Colleges is partnering with My Own Doctor to provide evening and weekend teletherapy and psychiatry services for City Colleges students. Students can receive online counseling between 5pm and 9pm Monday through Friday and/or between 9am and 7pm on Saturdays. To make an appointment call (312) 210-7820 or visit myowndoctor.com/ccc to create an account. If you have questions, stop by or call your campus Wellness Center. These services are free to CCC students and are confidential.

Counseling

Whether you are experiencing a crisis or are facing a personal challenge, the Wellness Center can provide confidential support and a safe place to talk about what’s on your mind. Our trained counselors can work with you to create a plan to address a host of challenges, including life transition, grief and loss, testing and public speaking anxiety, family issues, sexual assault/harassment, relationship conflict, veterans’ re-entry, anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues.

Information About Public Aid and Community Resources

Many students are unaware that they qualify for various public aid programs, including SNAP, subsidized health insurance/Medicaid, unemployment, supportive and emergency housing, and more. The Wellness Center can help you learn more about these programs and other low- or no-cost community resources, as well as help you apply for these services.

Stress and Time Management

Being a college student can be stressful and overwhelming, but Wellness Center staff are here to help you create a stress and time management plan and develop other personal organizational skills.

Support Groups

Each of our Wellness Centers offers support groups on topics relevant to college students, such as stress and time management, busy parents, anger management, and veterans’ issues. Check with your Wellness Center to see what is being offered during the current term.

Psychological Evaluations

The Wellness Centers offer psychological evaluations on a limited basis. Contact your college’s Wellness Center for more information.
