Aircraft

1. How many times can the Mavic Air's front and rear arms be folded? Around 5000 times. 2. Can I fly the Mavic Air without unfolding the front landing gears?

Please unfold the front landing gears before flight, or the remote controller‘s image transmission signal may be affected.

3. What material is the Mavic Air's body made of? Polycarbonate with high toughness. 4. Where are the Mavic Air's antennas and compass mounted to?

The compass is mounted to the tail of the aircraft and the antennas are mounted to the sides of the front landing gears.

5. Do I have to remove the propellers before transporting the Mavic Air? 6. What is the diagonal size of the Mavic Air? 7. Can I change the Mavic Air upper cover's color? No. Do not disassemble the aircraft's upper cover by yourself. 8. What are the dimensions of the Mavic Air after the propellers are unfolded? 168x184x64mm (L×W×H). 9. How can I mount and remove the Mavic Air's gimbal protectors?

To mount the gimbal protector, balance the gimbal, align the gimbal protector with the gimbal, push it in, and press it down.
To remove the gimbal protector, pinch its two sides, lift it up, and pull it out.

10. How do I stop the propellers?

The same way as the Mavic Pro.
Push both sticks to the bottom inner or outer corners to stop the motors. (Stop the motors when the aircraft crashes, the flight height cannot be controlled, or the aircraft attitude cannot be controlled.)

11. Why does the data exported by using DJI Assistant 2 contain other module's data, such as the cameras' and gimbals'?

It is to avoid the issue where we may frequently obtain data from users. The flight controller issue does not relate to the flight controller module only. So it is necessary to export all the modules' data.

12. Is the Mavic Air's flight controller the same as that of the Mavic Pro? No. The Mavic Air uses a new flight controller hardware with a greatly enhanced running speed.

Gimbal&Camera

1. What kind of gimbal does the Mavic Air use? A three-axis gimbal. 2. What is the maximum controllable range of the Mavic Air's gimbal? Pitch: -90° to 0° (Default).
90° to 17° (Extended). 3. Does the Mavic Air's gimbal support Portrait Mode? 4. How do I mount and remove the gimbal cover?

To remove the cover, pinch the cover with two fingers, lift it up, and push it out.
To mount the cover, balance the gimbal, align the cover with the gimbal, push it in, and press it down.

5. Can I replace the Mavic Air's gimbal dampers by myself? 6. Can the Mavic Air's camera focus? No. It is a prime lens. 7. What is the dimension of the Mavic Air's camera sensor? 1/2.3" Sensor. 8. Can the Mavic Air's remote controller be used with the Spark?

It is the same as that of the Spark. Power on the aircraft and remote controller, and press the Flight Pause Button, Function Button, and Customizable Button at the same time.

3. Can I turn off or change the beeping tone of the Mavic Air's remote controller? 4. How long can the Mavic Air's remote controller operate? Around 2.5 hours (tested in an experiment environment). Image Transmission

3. What should I do if the Mavic Air's image transmission signal is normal while the image transmission screen is black or white?

This is an overexposure or underexposure effect which happens when the manual exposure mode is enabled. Enter the camera view, tap the exposure settings in the lower right corner, and set the mode to auto exposure.

4. Why can the Mavic Air's Wi-Fi not be found?

If the aircraft has been connected to the remote controller, power on the aircraft, press the Function Button on the aircraft until the aircraft makes "DD" sounds. The aircraft is switched to Wi-Fi control mode. Then the Mavic Air's Wi-Fi can be found.

The intelligent chip of the battery is regulating its volume at all times. It does not need to be fully charged or discharged manually on a regular basis.

12. Do I need to turn off the Mavic Air's Intelligent Flight Battery before charging it? Yes. Or it may damage the power port. 13. What should I note when using and storing the battery? To store the battery for a long period, discharge and charge the battery every three months. 14. Why does the Mavic Air's Intelligent Flight Battery not work the first time? Propulsion

1. What is the maximum speed of the Mavic Air? 2. What are the size and model of the Mavic Air's propellers? The diameter is 5.3 inch and the model is 5332S. The spark's 4.7-inch propellers cannot be used. 3. What are the Mavic Air's propellers made of? Glass Fiber Reinforced Polyamide. 4. Why can the Mavic Air's propellers not be folded?

It is to obtain better dynamic balance and reduce vibration, and it does not affect the aircraft's folding and portability.

5. How often should I replace Mavic Air's propellers?

If the propeller is scratched, bent, or damaged, replace it immediately. It is recommended to replace them at least every three months.

6. Can the Mavic Air's motors be used with the Spark?

Software

1. How does the Mavic Air composite the image in ActiveTrack? In ActiveTrack, select a target, and drag the frame in the screen to composite. 2. How does the Mavic Air's SmartCapture work?

a. Ensure that the lighting condition is adequate and the aircraft's vision systems can work normally.
b. The aircraft is in P mode.
c. Fly the aircraft in an open area. Do not fly the aircraft over crowds. Otherwise, accidents may occur due to wrong operations.
d. Fly on a fine day without winds or with a gentle breeze.
e. Fly with propeller guards mounted to the aircraft.

3. Can I take off the Mavic Air by scanning my face, like the Spark?

No. The aircraft cannot take off from the palm, but it can be take off from the ground with gesture control.

4. Does the Mavic Air support PalmLand? No. It is not recommended to land the aircraft on your hands. 5. Does the Mavic Air support precision landing? How will it be triggered?

Yes. Precision Landing function is subject to the following:
1. The Home Point is recorded when taking-off and cannot not be refreshed during flight.
2. The aircraft takes off vertically (10 m).
Terrain Feature Detection:
The aircraft takes off and flies 30 m above the ground. When the aircraft flies within 20 m from the Home Point, the senor will scan the terrain. When the current terrain matches with the Home Point's terrain, the aircraft will land.
When the aircraft is beyond 20 m away from the Home Point, press the RTH button on the remote controller or tap the RTH button in the app, the aircraft will return to home, match with the image information from takeoff, move horizontally, or yaw to change its nose direction to achieve precision landing.
When the aircraft is landing, use the remote controller to control the following:
1. Pull the throttle stick downward to increase the descending speed.
2. Pulling the throttle stick upward or moving the control stick in any direction will stop Precision Landing. The aircraft will descend vertically and the Landing Protection will remain active.

6. What is the Mavic Air's Advanced Pilot Assistance Systems (APAS) function?

With Advanced Pilot Assistance Systems (APAS) enabled, the aircraft will auto plan the flight route when encountering an obstacle. Users can push the pitch stick forward or backward, and the aircraft will fly around the obstacle. If the aircraft cannot go around the obstacle, it will hover in place. Do not fly the aircraft over small obstacles or in a narrow area as APAS may not function normally.
